The Caissons were motivated to play at home this past Saturday after a tough loss on the road against Miller School.
Fishburne Military School started the game with great man-to-man defense and maintained a high level of teamwork throughout the game. As a result, the Caissons picked up their first win of the season, final score FMS 63 – NCS 54.
Senior Peja Brent and Junior Chase Altis both chipped in 16 points, Fishburne’s leading rebounder was the smallest player on the court, Ethan Hildebrand, with 7.
The Caissions found themselves in serious foul trouble with 3 players having 4 fouls with six minutes left in the fourth quarter.The game was close throughout until Junior Power Forward Joseph Christian scored 4 consecutive baskets in the paint to help the Caissons increase the lead. Christian finished the game with ten points.The Caissons hit their free throws to end the game.
It was a great first win for our team. They are improving each day and this is translating from practices to game time performance.
