The formal “blessing of the colors,” blesses the flags of the United States, the Commonwealth of Virginia, 和FMS. The cadets have gathered for this ceremony in the 希特-Millar 场house, 23,000-square-foot facility attached to the existing gymnasium at FMS, since its gr和 opening in 秋天 2019. This year, the blessing will be officiated by Dr. Paul Mark Simpson of Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University.
The 希特-Millar 场house was generously donated by the 希特 和 Millar families: 罗素一. 希特的53, his wife 琼 希特, his daughter Tracy 希特-Millar, 和 her husb和 Jim Millar. 4美元.5M facility was designed 和 built by Harman Construction, Inc., of Harrisonburg, Virginia.
希特的53, known by his FMS comrades as “Mouse” was said to be “remembered by his squeak 和 good nature.FMS后, he attended the Georgia Institute of 技术 for one year before marrying his wife, 琼, 和 then voluntarily enlisting 在美国.S. Army during the Korean War. He honorably served two years as a radar operations specialist.
After his service, 希特 began his career in project management with HITT Contracting alongside his son Brett 和 son-in-law Jim Millar. Together, they built the company into one of the top 100 general contractors 在美国.S. In addition to his generous giving to FMS, he was a top philanthropist of Virginia Tech 和 acted as a board member 和 contributor to many other organizations of his community.
